Counselling

Counselling is a process that allows a client, in a private and confidential setting, to explore a difficulty or distress experienced, a dissatisfaction with life, or loss of a sense of direction and purpose. The counsellor offers the acceptance, respect and encouragement helpful in building a trusting relationship. Counselling has the “purpose of assisting clients to understand their issues and concerns in order to enhance self-growth, personal effectiveness, interpersonal relationships, life adjustments, spiritual growth, and mental health”…
(B.C. Association of Clinical Counsellors)

My belief is that humans thrive when their uniqueness is acknowledged as well as their desire for dignity, respect, equality, honesty and healthy connection. Within this context, I help individuals, couples and families with the following:

Depression

Anxiety

Stress

Grief and loss

Adjustment to addiction recovery

Relationship conflict

Communication difficulties

Life transitions (marriage, career, retirement, chronic illness)

Work/life balance

Body/mind/spirit connection

Rehabilitation recovery

Parenting

Individuals and couples who want to explore their spirituality as a resource for improving themselves, their interpersonal relationships, and their functioning in daily life are supported in this experience.

My counselling services are eligible for coverage with several Extended Health Plans.

I provide clinical and experiential supervision for counselling students and working counsellor professionals.
